Grow Baby Grow

Well, baby, you have officially hung in there longer than our last little guy. I'm assuming that means you will be sticking around for a while. At least I'm hoping that's what it means.

We are starting to get real about you joining us.

Hope to see your little heart beat in a week!
Love,
Mommy

5 weeks 1 day

Tonight we told my dad, Colton, Annette and Chris that we are pregnant. It's Christmas Eve so we felt that it would be fitting.

We had Levi wear a shirt that said "Best Brother Ever". He wore it for at least 40 minutes before anyone said anything. Apparently everyone noticed it but thought it wasn't meant for this time. Like we accidentally put them in a "big brother" shirt on Christmas Eve. Ridiculous!

I have my first appointment on January 6th. Today I had a lot more nausea. I'm also pretty tired. I'm hoping that I'll have some more symptoms so that I feel pregnant but yet not be totally sick. I also took another pregnancy test right before we started telling people... it was pretty positive. I think the most postive test I've ever had. The pregnant line showed up immediately before the control line and it was also darker than the control line. All good signs.

Hang in there baby bean! We love you!

Number 3

Well here we go.

At my miscarriage follow up appointment on December 3rd, my doctor and I discussed a bunch of stuff. Why the last pregnancy didn't stick, outstanding issues with my fertility and William's that could have contributed, plans for moving forward. She also did an ultrasound just to make sure things looked good. She said that my ovaries looked great and were very "active". We agreed to go home and try on our own and then talk about fertility stuff right after the holidays. She felt that we would need drugs/IUI to get pregnant.

Except that...
I'm 5 weeks pregnant.

Go figure.

I don't feel many symptoms but have had some off and on. I've also had a cold so I think it masks some of the symptoms as well.

I'll call the doctor tomorrow to set up our first prenatal appointment. I've decided not to go in for blood work to confirm the pregnancy.  We are going to tell everyone on Christmas Day. We want to be happy... not fearful the whole time.

So,
Baby Stephens #2, hang in there. Mommy wants you to stick around. At least for 9 months or so... please. You can come out in August, how about that?

Love,
Mommy

Baby Stephens #2

Well, after 5 months of trying William and I were thrilled to discover that a few days after I declared my secondary infertility I was actually already pregnant.

I was on day 38 of my cycle and was getting pretty pissed that it was going on so long. We had just decided to go forward with intervention but the lack of "Aunt Flow" showing up really threw a kink in our plans to start meds. I had been taking cheap pregnancy tests I bought off Amazon and they were all negative so I finally broke down and bought a few expensive ones.

On November 12, 2013, we found out we were expecting again. I called my doctor the next morning and went in for blood work to check my progesterone levels and hcg levels. I found out Thursday that my progesterone was normal but my hcg levels were extremely low. They asked if there was any way I actually ovulated much later than expected which of course is a possibility with me. I went in for repeat blood work this morning but won't know the result of it until Monday.

We are excited. Still trying to figure out how everything will work out (money and house preparations) but we have plenty of time.

Right now I'm guessing my due date is around July 20, 2013. I will be having a scheduled c-section this time. My guess is they'll want to do it around 38 weeks so I don't go into labor. That would put the baby's birthday around July 7th.

I'm already making a short long list of boys and girls names for us to consider. I'm of course still team pink and William is of course still team blue.

So I guess all that is left to say is bring on the pregnancy!
